Wheelchair & Para Standing Tennis Schedule

Texas Parasport Games Packet Pickup and Event Check-in

Thurs: 3:00-8:30 PM 

Friday: 9:00-11:30 AM or 1:30-7:30 PM

(All athletes must come through the TXP Games check-in and packet pickup)

9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Wheelchair & Para Standing)

Sunday: April 27, 2025

9:00 AM - 11:00 AM (Red Ball)

Wheelchair Tennis Divisions will be a Level 4 sanctioned USTA event and will count towards ranking. A paid USTA Membership is required for this event for adults, junior membership is free.

USTA Membership 

  1. Adult Coed A Singles

  2. Adult Coed B Singles

  3. Adult Coed C Singles

  4. Adult Coed D Singles

  5. Junior Coed 18A & Under

  6. Junior Coed 18B & Under

  • If two or more Letter Divisions are combined into one event due to lack of entries in the divisions, the event will be designated as the higher letter division.

 

Para Standing Tennis Divisions

  1. PST 1 - Upper limb disability or similar impairment, such as cerebral palsy with limited mobility impact (1 bounce allowed)

  2. PST 2 - Below Knee amputee or cerebral palsy with similar mobility levels (1 bounce allowed)

  3. PST 3 - Above Knee amputee, double arm impairment, or cerebral palsy with more severe mobility issues (2 bounces if needed)  

  4. PST 4 - Short stature or impairment with similar impact on mobility (2 bounces if needed) 

  • Events will be combined if needed

  • Adults & Juniors will be combined

  • This event will be coed

 

Wheelchair & Para Standing Tennis General Guidelines-2 bounces for Wheelchair and 1-2 bounces for Para Standing 

Draws will be either one or more round robins or compass draws depending on the number of entries for each division. Scoring will be best of three tiebreak sets (10pt tiebreak in lieu of 3rd) • No ad scoring

Able-bodied Veterans

The event is for players who play full court with a yellow ball (singles only).

  • ​Draws will be either one or more round robins or compass draws depending on the number of entries for each division. 

  • Scoring will be best of three tiebreak sets (10pt tiebreak in lieu of 3rd) • No ad scoring

  • This event will be COED

​

Red Ball for All (Sunday: 9:00-11:00 AM)

This event is new and for anyone who wants to play tennis within the service boxes using a red ball with a short racquet.

Friday: 4:30-6:30 PM (Morgan's Sport)

Wheelchair Repair

  • There will be a minor wheelchair repair station set-up near the courts. 

  • A wheelchair repair timeout is a cumulative timeout of up to 20 minutes that is permitted for wheelchair repairs during a match, including the warm-up. 

 

Awards

  • Medals will be given to the top three athletes in each division

  • Male and Female athletes will compete together.

  • Medal ceremonies will be conducted at the Tennis venue immediately after the completion of each division.
